Happy Easter everyone and welcome to another wild Texas Spring! It’s a common phrase to hear in many states across the South that if you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes and it’ll change. They may have some pretty crazy weather days but those folks should probably take a little visit out here to Texas because here, it’s entirely true and quite often.
We were able to escape pretty unscathed last week from what was expected to be the weatherman’s definition of “Stormageddon Hail Edition” with softballs of ice raining down upon us. The bad news though is that after a beautiful Easter weekend, we may be heading toward some more pretty severe storms through at least the middle of this week.
Weather reports from Weathernation and the Weather Channel indicate that yet another severe weather system is currently looming over the Lubbock area but looks to gain power via a cold front pushing past from the Northwest. This new storm system is expected to produce heavy rains and potentials for significant sized hail as well. Like always, the Texas weather is subject to change at a moment’s notice but be sure to keep an eye on the horizon as you never know how severe this latest round may be. Don’t forget to have your roof checked after these major storms to avoid any leaks or worsening wind damage later.
